That's it. So you just turn into an actual wolf -- I'm guessing on the full moon?

[It's different then what she's used to, to say the least.]

Yep and yep. Not half as exciting as your friends, or as stabproof, but I can tell you where all the moons are and when the main ones are coming full.

Promise -- the stabbing wouldn't ever happen unless I thought you were going to hurt someone.

[he raises an eyebrow.]

Not really a hurting people kind of guy. I don't have the...[he gropes for the right word, comes up empty] anger thing. What does a wolf have to be angry about?

I don't know -- but most wolves I know tend to have heigtened aggression. [Even people like Scott. She smiles, a little.]

But I'm glad to hear that it doesn't apply to you. I'm not really equipped to handle the angry type as well as I'd like to be right now.

[She really misses the Argent arsenal.]

[werewolfing]

Yeah. Their version is...weird.

[the comment about being equipped to handle them makes him falter a little. his encounter with a hunter had been more than a little terrifying, and peter hasn't forgotten her dogged determination to take him down even when she knew that he wasn't the problem.]

I'm telling you because I'm not a problem you'll need to handle. I've never hurt anybody, or even really wanted to. Just don't want there to be any kind of...misunderstanding.

There's no misunderstanding. I don't -- I don't go after people who don't give me a reason to. It's more about protecting people than hunting people. That's my code.

[That wasn't always the Argent way but Allison's rewritten things, made it her own.]

[he gives her a relieved little smile, the tension in his shoulders easing.]

That puts you ahead of a hell of a lot of people in the world.

Good thing for me we live in the now, then, huh?

You said your code. There was another one?

[transferee]

My family comes from a long history of hunters -- the code used to be we hunt those who hunt us. [And that sort of thinking led to people like Kate and Gerard. Even her own mother. Allison wants to be better than that (she came so close to being just like them).]

The new code is we protect those who cannot protect themselves.

[She'll skip the French parts, as not everyone knows French.]

[werewolfing]

[he mulls this over for a moment, looking at her.]

Yours sounds better, I have to say. Less vengeful.

[in peter's experience, hunters don't wait to be hunted first. of course, a lot of people who were supposed to be protectors had funny ideas about what that meant, too, but someone who takes care to see the difference is probably not going to have that problem.]

That was the vibe I was going for. [Allison's gone the vengeance route before, it's not a line she ever wants to cross again.]

[werewolfing]

It's a good vibe. Would've saved me a heap of trouble.

[he gives a little shrug.]

So, how does a hunter end up friends with the supernatural creatures?

[peter isn't positive what lydia is, but he knows that she sure is something.]

By chance, mostly. When I first met Scott I didn't even know werewolves were a thing -- let alone that my family hunted them.

[werewolfing]

[he winces a little.]

That...must have been interesting.

To say the least. It got a little messy for a while. [Or a lot. ]

[werewolfing]

I can only imagine. From Isaac's stories, things seem...complicated, for you guys.

[transferee]

Yeah, nothing's ever simple in Beacon Hills.

[werewolfing]

Can't say I envy you there.

[transferee]

I don't think anyone would.

Not many people, anyway. There's definitely a guy here who would be pretty into it, but he's...special. I kinda value my ass.

The kind of special we need to be worried about or the just kind of strange kind?

[werewolfing]

Just weird, I think. Well, creepy. But he seemed more into the idea of watching bad shit going down than causing trouble.

[peter shrugs. people say a lot of things.]

That's better -- I think.

[But there does seem to be an eclectic group of people here, to say the least.]
